Forests cover 31% of the land on earth. They provide oxygen and homes of many different species. Around 1.6 billion people rely on forests and the food, water, and shelter they offer. Unfortunately, in recent years and especially during the past two decades, increased paper usage, agriculture expansion, illegal logging, climate change, and overpopulation all lead to deforestation.
About

deforestation
/ˌdiːfɒrɪˈsteɪʃ(ə)n/
Deforestation is the removal of a forest or stand of trees from land which is then converted to a non-forest use. Deforestation can involve conversion of forest land to farms, ranches, or urban use.
Since we do not know if there are certainly other planets available for life other than Earth, then we need to conserve what little we have and appreciate the gift of life on Earth.
